The definition, organisational structure as well as the naming of the SAP basis is historically conditioned by previous SAP software versions and components. This also results in the perception of the SAP basis and the related focus of the SAP NetWeaver and the ABAP system core, which is still widely used today. However, the scope of activities has changed significantly in terms of tasks and technology and will continue to change in view of SAP's perspective and product strategy and the changing roles of IT. In order to accommodate this change and to change perceptions both in the overall context of the SAP ecosystem and within its own company, the SAP basis must develop a new self-understanding and establish a marketing for the publication of its own performance. The integration of the SAP basis enables solutions to be introduced faster and better integrated into the existing system landscape. This is partly because the solutions are already known in advance and the necessary knowledge exists or is already planned. This will make it easier to implement the roadmap. It should also be noted that a clear strategy on digitisation and also on cloud products in general, as well as their possible uses, sets out a framework for action that all parties can follow. The participants thus know where the company wants to develop or orientate itself, what is possible and what is not possible or permitted. Thus, both companies and the parties have a valid point of reference at all times. This also leads to an increased acceptance within the SAP basis and a more practical implementation for the SAP basis, as the mentioned expertise is already present in the strategy. As a result, this makes it easier and cheaper to ensure operation in a manageable system landscape.
Active monitoring
Do you want to allow an employee access to exactly one view maintenance dialogue, but he should not be able to search for other care views in the SM30? This can be done easily with a parameter transaction. Learn how to create such a transaction step by step here. To create a parameter transaction, navigate to the SE93 first. Here you can create all types of transactions. The following dialogue will open: After pressing the "Create" button, a popup will open, on which you select the radio button "Transaction with parameters (parameter transaction)". In addition, type a short description as usual and confirm. The following dialogue will open: The transaction code must be specified here first. If you want to skip the entry dialogue when invoking the parameter transaction, and there is no way to open tables other than the one you want, make sure to select "Skip Entry Image". Furthermore, the GUI properties of the SM30 should be inherited so that the parameter transaction can be started with the same software. Configuration of the parameters In the lower part of the dialogue you will find a table ready for input. Here you can use the search help (F4).
