Before SAP HANA was released, there was no SAP database - you had to install SAP ERP (or the application you were using) on a third-party database, such as Oracle or SQL Server. SAP developed the HANA database to fully leverage the power of SAP's next-generation S/4 software.
However, the system modifiability has no influence on customising changes that are customised by the client. If you want to set the customising changes to customise, you must go to the client control. You can achieve this either by pressing the button "Client Control" when changing the system or by calling the table T000 via the transaction SM30. If you are now in the list of clients, you can double-click on the respective row to jump into the settings of the respective client. Here you can also make the desired settings and save them. He takes care of all the activities involved in project management and control.
Basis includes a client/server architecture and configuration, a relational database management system (DBMS), and a graphical user interface (GUI). In addition to interfaces between system elements, Basis includes a development environment for R/3 applications, a data directory, and user and system administration and monitoring tools.
