TRANSPORT MANAGEMENT
Migrations occur, for example, when a customer decides to host his systems at Rödl & Partner and the SAP systems therefore have to be migrated from in-house operation or from the original hosting provider to our data center. Also in the course of a conversion to S/4HANA, the data is migrated from the original database type to an SAP HANA database. This is also done with the tool "SUM" (Software Update Manager) via the so-called "DMO" (Database Migration Option).

Maintaining the availability of critical business processes not only requires a high-quality infrastructure, but also places equally high demands on the management and operation of the underlying SAP NetWeaver and SAP HANA platforms due to their high complexity. These platforms are often referred to as SAP Basis.

Part of an IT or cloud strategy may be to define architectural guidelines and a framework for the use and use of certain services. The SAP basis is to actively participate in shaping the rules and framework and the architectural guidelines, and bring in its existing expertise from the SAP technology environment.

IT professionals are taking the first steps in automation with the use of tools like RedHat Ansible. At our company, for example, Ansible is used for mass rollouts of agents in large environments.

Some missing SAP basic functions in the standard are supplied by the PC application "Shortcut for SAP Systems".

In addition, SAP administrators must of course be particularly competent in this area and be able to deal confidently with all issues relating to SAP solutions.

SAP Basis is the foundation of any SAP system. You can find a lot of useful information about it on this page: www.sap-corner.de.

In the project "the SAP basis of Tomorrow", current questions of the companies as well as the question of the SAP basis of the future were discussed and worked out with regard to the IT landscape, processes and organisational structure.
