SAP HANA (SAP High-Performance Analytic Appliance) is an SAP platform based on in-memory technology. With SAP HANA, you can achieve huge performance increases over traditional databases that were previously unthinkable. This enables you to analyze and evaluate mass data almost in real time without the need for data aggregation.
The dataowner should be the adm of the target system, which you can change (in the Unix console) with "chown adm K12345.DEV" (respectively R12345.DEV for the data file). To change the access permissions, you can use the command "chmod 664 K12345.DEV". Attach transport jobs in the SAP system Once this has been done, you can attach the transport orders in your SAP system to the import queue. This is done by using the STMS -> Import Overview (F5) to display the import queues. Select the import queue of the target system with a double click. After that, you will receive a pop-up under "Additions"->"More orders"->"Attach", which you can use to attach the transport orders to the import queue. In the pop-up you have to name the exact transport order. The correct name for this is as follows: The first three characters are the file extension of the two files you copied into the transport directory. The last characters consist of the file name of the cofiles file. In our example transport the transport would be called "DEVK12345" (deriving from the cofiles file K12345.DEV) This should now return a positive message from SAP and the transport is attached to the import queue. Now you can import this transport into the system just like any ordinary transport order. SAP Basis Administration Batch Control Job Control A large proportion of batch jobs run at night, while IT systems are available for dialog and online applications during the day. Meanwhile, web applications demand computer capacity around the clock. Even dialog systems are no longer in operation only from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., but between 7 a.m. and 10 p.m. or longer. The time window for administration tasks is increasingly shifting toward transaction processing. This leaves less and less time for mission-critical batches, which can lead to disruptions and terminations. Whereas batch processing used to be a mainframe domain, companies today usually have to control background processing in heterogeneous operating system environments and client-server applications. For this reason, cross-platform, integration-capable job schedulers that can respond to unplanned events are in demand.
Presentation layer: The presentation layer is the interface to the users. With the help of SAP GUI, the data is graphically prepared here and made available to the user on the screen. Furthermore, the data newly collected here is passed on to the application programs of the application layer.
Some missing SAP basic functions in the standard are supplied by the PC application "Shortcut for SAP Systems".
The Coupled process links the two strategies mentioned above.
