Integrate S_TABU_NAM into a Permission Concept
Maintain table permission groups
Despite progressive use of web interfaces in the S/4HANA context, batch processing for mass data is still required. However, our experience from customer projects shows that only very few authorization administrators know how to correctly authorize the scenarios. SAP OSS Note 101146 provides a good overview here. In this blog post, we would like to summarize the context for practical use.

Very often the question then arises, does anything have to be prepared for the audit? As a rule, all of the company's own notes from previous years should be retrieved and combed through for information that was noted at the time during the discussions with the IT auditor. The IT auditor's findings and comments that show potential for improvement in IT-relevant processes or system settings are particularly essential. Furthermore, any reports by the auditor from the previous year should also be taken into account, in which deficiencies identified at that time were pointed out.
Customise Permissions After Upgrade
With more than 28 users, the simple Copy & Paste in the user selection no longer works. However, this does not mean that you have to care for all users individually! It is common for you to make mass changes to users in the SAP system, such as changing role assignments, locking a group of users, or having to adjust their validity dates. Unfortunately, there is no button in the start image of the transaction SU10 that allows users to be pasted from the clipboard. While Copy & Paste allows you to insert users from the clipboard, this feature is limited to the visible area. Therefore, it is not possible to add a list of more than 28 users, which can be very difficult for long lists.

Authorization objects are defined with the help of transaction SU21. Each SAP transaction is equipped with the required authorization objects in SU24, which control access to specific functions within the respective program. Standard programs / transactions of an ERP system are already equipped with these objects during the initial installation. The same applies to other platforms such as CRM or Solution Manager.

However, if your Identity Management system is currently not available or the approval path is interrupted, you can still assign urgently needed authorizations with "Shortcut for SAP systems".

If ESS/MSS or Manager Desktop etc.

To define table permissions in the PFCG transaction, it is not necessarily sufficient to specify the generic table display tools, such as the SE16 or SM30 transactions, in the role menu.
