Security Automation for HR Authorizations
Calling RFC function modules
If the security advice change affects normal programme flow, you should schedule application tests. If only exceptional treatments are adjusted, you can omit or severely limit the test.

Don't simplify your entitlement concept before you know all the requirements, but first ask yourself what you need to achieve. So first analyse the processes (if possible also technically) and then create a concept. Many of the authorisation concepts we found in customers were not suitable to meet the requirements. Some of these were "grown" permission concepts (i.e., requests were repeatedly added) or purchased permission concepts. Many of these concepts had in common that they had been oversimplified, not simply. A nice example is permission concepts that summarise all organisational levels in value roles or organisational roles. There are few examples, such as the role manager of the industry solution SAP for Defence and Security, in which the result of a value role concept is still useful and appropriate for the user. The assumption that you "sometimes" separate all the authorization objects that contain an organisational level is simple, but not useful. We have not found the simplification that only a user without permissions can definitely not have illegal permissions. However, there was always the case that users had far too many permissions and the system was therefore not compliant.
Use system recommendations to introduce security
The IF_IDENTITY interface of the CL_IDENTITY class provides various methods for maintaining the fields of the user master record. As a template for the implementation of the BAdIs, you can use the CL_EXM_IM_IDENTITY_SU01_CREATE implementation example, which automatically populates the SU01 transaction's surname, space number, phone, email address, user group, billing number, and cost centre fields. This example implementation does not provide an external data source; the user name is set as the last name and fixed values are used for the other fields. At this point, you must complete the implementation, depending on your requirements. There are several possible data sources for the user master data that you can access from the BAdI.

Roles can be assigned to users directly through user management in the SU01 transaction, role maintenance in the PFCG transaction, or mass change of users in the SU10 transaction. However, if the employee changes his or her position in the company, the old roles must be removed and new roles assigned according to the new activities. Because PFCG roles are created to represent job descriptions, you can use organisational management to assign roles to users based on the post, job, etc.

With "Shortcut for SAP systems" you can automate the assignment of roles after a go-live.

If you want to allow advanced permissions for reporting, but you do not want them to be unrestricted, you must select COARS = 1.
