SAP Landscape Copies
Save time, money and nerves with "Systemcopy as a Service
One of the most common methods of creating an SAP system copy is to use SAP's own tool "BR*Tools". This tool provides the ability to create a backup of the database, which can then be used to restore the system. It can also be used to export certain data from the database and import it into another system.

A system copy can be created either with SAP transactions (R3trans, from R4.6C SAPinst) or at file and database level. Costs and effort increase with the size of the system and the requirements for availability and data protection. In addition, administrative rework is often necessary, starting with the system name and extending to printers and interfaces.
Job logic instead of customizing
Often, the development and test systems of an SAP landscape are far removed from the status of the productive systems used on a daily basis: Outdated developments, customizing settings and master data reduce the quality and trustworthiness of test and emergency scenarios. It also becomes increasingly difficult to make reliable statements about the behavior of the production system after changes in customizing.

In SAP, the admin must be happy to build new landscapes so that testing, development and enhancement can take place. In a system copy, the approaches are as colorful and varied as the philosophies of the administrators. The important thing is to think about the target system before building it. After all, after the database is removed and the system is rebuilt, there will be two identical systems on the network.

With "Shortcut for SAP Systems", tasks in the area of SAP system copying are simplified and can also be automated via the command line interface.

SAP Basis is the foundation of any SAP system. You can find a lot of useful information about it on this page: www.sap-corner.de.

Here, a production system represents the source and a non-production system with a specific long-term task in the SAP system landscape represents the target.

The same procedures can be used for the copy, as with the copy of non-Unicode systems.
